POITRA was asked by the city to provide photosimulation design visualization. The city of Stockton Department of Public Works was familiar with POITRA work from past I-5 Interchange projects.
The Engineer provided all the base photographs from a corridor photo survey.
At the Wagner Heights location numerous commercial signs, fire hydrants in the right-of-way needed to be relocated to allow additional lanes. This section was predominantly commercial and street trees and sound mitigation were unecessary. Only a single alternate was simulated.
POITRA artists carefully laid in the new lane configuration, with curbs, walks, drive cuts, lane markings, and relocated signage and street lighting. The simulation was completed using only traditional digital painting techniques.
The previous bridge and roadway design experience of the POITRA Visual principals made the process quick and smooth.
The final existing and proposed alternate photosimulation images were used in the public outreach process conducted by the City of Stockton. The images were set in graphic display board layouts to be printed for community meetings and also used on the City's project website.
