I-5 Claudia Landeen School Sound Wall Photosimulations CalTrans and City of Stockton, Stockton, California POITRA Visual provided photo-realistic simulations to CalTrans and the City for the I-5 north Stockton Corridor, which studied the I-5 Corridor through Stockton, California to make capacity improvements. The project resulted in highway widenings throughout the I-5 corridor, several interchange redesigns, and two new interchanges. The highway widenings and redesigned interchanges along I-5 inevitably resulted in new soundwalls. The proposed soundwall at the Claudia Landeen School location needed to be illustrated in order for school administrators to make informed comments.

POITRA Visual also provided a series of 3d graphic cross-sections to further describe the modifications in study documents.

Photo-simulation was the medium chosen as the best way to accurately communicate the proposed design to project team members and to the school. A view of the wall from the school yard was selected for the simulation. The Engineer provided photograph required placement of the new wall beyond the existing perimiter trees at the school. The architectural finish of the wall matched sound walls constructed earlier on I-5. The final simulations were finished using traditional digital image editing techniques. The finished simulations were used in meetings between school administrators, the City of Stockton and CalTrans. « BACK
