The Developer feared the proposed corridor would interupt the existing view of the continental divide. Photo-simulations were the best medium to accurately evaluate any visual impact. POITRA photograpers shot various angles from the warehouses and the Engineer selected the view.
Poitra provided expertly-done photo simulations, and sometimes
under tight time constraints, which were instrumental in conveying project concepts to our audiences. ”

The original photograph was prepared by relocating the roadway and making sidewalk and curb improvements using traditional digital painting techniques.
POITRA modelers then created a 3D site model that included the EMU catenary system, a double mainline track and roadbed, right-of-way fencing and the EMU vehicles. The proposed vehicle had not yet been manufactured and existed only as a POITRA custom 3D model. The site model was camera matched, lighted, rendered and composited with the photograph to create final photo-simulation.
The project team was able to demonstrate that the mountain view would be opened up by eliminating nearby storage double stack container frieght rail cars and that the new transit corridor would visually upgrade the existing freight rail siding.
The finished simulations were used in meetings with the Developer, the City and County of Denver, Fastracks public stakeholders and also in the EIS document.
